A. General Admissions Requirements
- All prospective students must be at least 16 years old, and 18, by the time of graduation. Applicants under 18 years of age are required to have a parent or guardian’s permission to apply for admission and they must also sign the enrollment agreement. Some programs may have additional age requirements to meet clinical affiliate requirements and/or applicable state and federal laws.
- Talk or Meet with Admissions Representative.
- Talk or Meet with Finance Department.
- Submit a completed and signed application along with the applicable application fees
- Provide proof of government-issued Picture Identification.
- Submit evidence of high school graduation, GED, or equivalent (Students who do not have a high school diploma or equivalent and still wish to apply to Brilliant Academy Health Center must take an Ability to Benefit Test ATB).
- ATB students may only apply to the Home Health Aide and Patient Care Assistant Programs.
- High School Attestation must be completed with the Application.
- Students who wish to receive Transfer credit must submit official transcripts.
- Licensed Practical Nurses applying for the Associate of Science of Nursing who want to receive Advanced Placement Credit must meet all Advanced Placement Credit requirements.
- Complete a Pre-Enrollment Background check
- For Some programs, applicants may be required to pass an entrance examination
- All students apply to Blended or Take the Institutional Basic Computer Skills Exam and pass it. The Institutional Basic Computer Skills Exam tests computer literacy and the skills of the applicant’s modern-day computer use and the proficiency necessary to function in hybrid and online courses.
- Complete the Enrollment Agreement and Attend Orientation
B. Entrance Examination Requirements
A student entering an undergraduate pre-licensure nursing program offered by the Brilliant Academy Health Center is required to take a TEAS or Nursing Entrance Examination. The test is a basic aptitude test designed to identify students who would succeed in nursing school and who can think like a nurse. Questions are designed to test the basic academic skills a nursing student will need to perform in class in the areas of Reading, Math, Science, and English and Language Usage.

C. General Clinical Requirements
Clinical Required Documents are not required for admissions into any program however applicants admitted into the Patient Care Technician and Nursing programs will be required to submit Clinical Required documents to the Clinical Department prior to the beginning Clinical Rotations. Students will be notified of Deadlines for Submission by Clinical Department Staff.
- Students must be in good physical health as documented by a completed physical examination
- Evidence of vaccinations must be submitted prior to enrollment to include Hepatitis B or declination form, Mumps, Measles, Rubella (MMR), Varicella, and Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (TDap/Td).
- A current PPD / TB test with negative results obtained within the last month or a chest x-ray report with negative results obtained within the 12 months.
- Submit a current CPR card.
- Accepted applicants will be required to provide proof of their own medical insurance.
- Students who are accepted into the Patient Care Technician and Nursing programs must complete a 10-panel Drug Screening. Students who fail the Drug Screening without prescriptive documentation will be automatically withdrawn from the program.
- Complete a Level II background check prior to clinical rotations.
Please Note: Some clinical affiliates may require a COVID-19 vaccine or a COVID Clearance prior to participation in clinical rotations at their facility.
D. Technology Requirements
Accepted applicants must have consistent access to a working computer (with Internet connectivity, required software, etc.). See the Equipment and Technology Link below
