Program Objective: The Practical Nursing Program offered by Brilliant Academy Health Center is designed to provide students with sufficient knowledge and skills to effectively practice and successfully pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). The Graduate Practical Nurse will leave the school with basic knowledge and skills, with a strong foundation for building at higher levels. They will enter the workforce with these skills and function effectively as a team member capable of applying sound judgment and appropriate actions.

Program Description: The Practical Nursing Program gives training to students to acquire skills comparable to the demands of the healthcare industry. The training will assist the Practical Nursing student in the area of critical thinking to enhance their effectiveness as members of the health care team. It facilitates the necessary knowledge and skills for entry-level employment. The basic knowledge that serves as a foundation for higher levels of learning in the health care profession is learned by the students, and the graduates are adequately prepared to pass the State Board Examinations. It will teach them to utilize problem-solving techniques to prioritize the plan of care based on the client’s need and implement basic therapeutic nursing care techniques; maintain safety throughout the process of care delivery; present caring behaviors during the delivery care; maintain respect and cultural sensitivity during procedure implementation; deliver nursing care within the legal scope of practice according to the Nurse Practice Act and instruct clients in the promotion and maintenance of optimum health and illness prevention. All graduates of Brilliant Academy Health Center must complete all requirements as set by the program to receive a diploma and qualify to take the State Board of Nursing national licensure exam.
